IMHO, the optimum would have been Clark as president and Dean as VP. But then again, I'm not Amerikhan so my opinion doesn't matter...

Clark's too conservative for my taste. But yes, he might have a better chance of beating Bush. It is my deepest hope that, if elected, Kerry will live up to his rhetoric on big business*. Still, it was his willingness to vote against the "defense of marriage" act that won him my deepest respect.
*Yea, yea, used to be a Randian Libertarian, got an autographed copy of "Atlas Shrugged" and all that. Then I grew up.
First Daniel Schorr and more recently Cokie Roberts have assured me that this won't happen. So I defer to the collective wisdom of NPR.
Sorry. Karl Rowe (the evil puppeteer who operates the GWB dummy) won't use Kerry's vote against the "Defense of Marriage" act to stir up anti gay sentiment to gain the edge for Bush in a close election.
Speaking of puppeteers, I wonder what muck Richard "Prince of Darkness" Perle has been mucking in lately.
kerry has to beat edwards, and that want be a small task.
and either will beat bush.to many folks need to go back to work...

Well, we have this thing called the Supreme Court. It renders the ship of state more like an aircraft carrier than a battle cruiser. Once the direction of the court is changed the effects are far reaching and can last for generations.
At present our court is balanced on a knife's edge between liberal and conservative. In the next 5 years at least two judges will be replaced (short of a miracle). Everything from our personal liberties to the very existence of endangered species hangs in that balance. So in fact it makes a huge difference.

Oh. (embarrassed emmoticon goes here)
Sincere thanks for the link and the enlightenment.
wait, didnt all of those corporations get away with cooking the books/ stealing millions under the past democratic president while the president looked very pretty sitting on a 'very strong' but false (ie enron, tyco, worllcom etc etc etc) economy. Yet when the republican came in they all got caught.... I sure hope Kerry is as "strong" on corporations as clinton was.......
