Overall, I think of round horns as a continuum........
I wanted an exceedingly smooth surface, which was the major part. One-offs are just hell.
Yeah, my simple circular mouth terminations make for a point source-with-gain kind of presentation, but JMMLC's makes for a smaller mouth/baffle, so if/when I ever build any more horns I will use his if I don't 'cheat' with some other type of 'soft' termination such as foam to further reduce it. Find the right damping value that's environmentally stable over time and this subject becomes mostly moot.
You got that right! Agreed, at mach one there's no such thing as too smooth, just a point of diminishing returns trying to attain a frictionless finish, so wood horns must be sealed to glass smooth for best performance. Wonder how hard it would be to accurately blow a glass horn? I'm guessing near impossible since I've never seen one. Ceramic should be doable though.

Hi GM,
The Kugelwellen profile is the same as the spherical wave flare available in Hornresp.
Greets!
Thanks, I was wondering what that was, but haven't gotten around to playing with it or any of the latest features which I see I'm already out of date again.
