hooking up passive net on jx92s

i'm sorry if this is kind of an idiot question, but right now i'm trying to hook up the L and R to the jx92s by their terminals, but it won't sing.

the website suggest that connect them in series, so i put the L in between positive terminals of the speaker and the amps.

what did i do wrong?

btw,

Happy New Year Everybody, i hope everyone having a good time 😉

Hi Henry

I'm also curious about the impact of the filter.
Jordans website states a combo of a 4 Ohm resistor with a 2mH coil.
All I can find are 3R9 resistors and a 2,2 mH coils.
Now the question is, can we deviate a little from the stated values or are they critical?

walter,

i just tried the filters last night, and i think it is horrible.
the filters sucked the air very badly, and the sound is becoming bass dominant, i don't know if it works with original VTL design (mine is MLTL GM's)

btw, the inductor is 1,5 mH and 2 mH, tried both of them, and same results, and yes i can only get 3,9 ohms lynx (can't get those caddock).

then i tried with mundorf foil 0,2 mH, i think i hear a slight bass improvement, but because i only have one, so i only hear them in my right speaker.

i think i'm going to tried with 0,5 mH and up, to see if they sound good.

why don't u try them walter?

cheers

hi all,

latest update on my speaker, just change internal wiring with kimber 4tc, i use 2 of them for each runs.

sounds very open with solid vocals, i think i like it.

but the bass still shy, mids are still dominant.

just tried the 0,2 mH again today, and i noticing a slight bass improvement, but there is a noticable peak in the mids. :bawling: still haven't found the good setup.

cheers
