Hello,
I know this has been answered already but I would really like some input on my specific set up so here I go; I want to integrate 2 bass horns using plate amps (Bash 300) with a integrated tube amp (Onix SP3). Speakers are Audio Nirvana Super 8's, if it matters.
Do I use the speaker level inputs? I have always been leery of this because of sending the signal through the sub before the main speakers. I have no experience to think this will degrade the signal it is just a feeling that persists.
Do I hook the main speakers up and tap off the back of them into the plate amps.
My experience with subs has been two; with receivers that have a sub out line and with Rel subs hooked to the power amps at the speaker taps.
Anyway, that is my problem and I would greatly appreciate any advice.
Tracy

Well with a horn loaded sub the tops should really be delayed via DSP. If not, "muddiness" will result.
Ummm.....why? Sorry I am kind of lost. Are you talking some sort of bass control device? EQ? Even so, why?
Thanks

If you wish to use the built in high pass XO on the plate amps for the AN 8's you have to use the speaker level inputs. If you wish to run the AN 8's full range then use the RCA or XLR inputs. As far as sound quality, well that's debatable, it's really just a resistive network cutting the power down when you use the speaker level inputs so is there a difference? Maybe, maybe not. I use systems each way.
EDIT: I don't think the newer Bash have XLR's
EDIT2: The only thing that happens to the speaker out when you use the speaker in is that they go through a cap, often an electrolytic mind you.
