Yep, one should report back, especially if promised.
Manual purchased and amp repaired. One boken transistor array responsible for switching +/- to input selection fet's.
I've now done my duty two years later 🙂

More trouble...
Looks like HK docu department lost some service manual. This include HK-690 and HK-650 pre/main amp manual. I personally order and download near 14 different with hope to found near the same but without success.
This models are manufactured in wangine e. c. ltd. But up to this time I do not have success to get the manual from.
Only I found is the cct diagram of this two model at description "servce manual". This can downloaded from nodevice.com site. But I still do not have part list and the idle current for this model.
But this two model is worth more than lost. Each channel in pwr amp has separated power (but common transformer). The pwr amp can drive 8-4-2 ohm. Only one IC in for the volume module (direct mode), all other are discrete. The pre out and the main in is the backplane connector so it possible to separate (eg. biamp).

For the future...
😛 Just for the future one helpfull tip for HK-630, HK-650, HK-690 users.
This amp provide mouch better stage and linearity if all of their unused input terminated with 10kOhm. This can be done with RCA male and one resistor.

HK650 improvement
As mentioned in previous post, the input switching of this amp are not good (and the volume control is cheap btw), although HK amp stage itself is fine. I use a high quality external switch(USD15), and Amps potentiometer (USD25) and feed directly into the power amp stage of this amp (the amp has pre-out and power-in at the back. Now sounding very nice 🙂

HK 690 service manual
Hello dear fellow HK fans,
I've just got my hands on a HK690, spent my last bucks on it (paid 200 Eur + 40 for packing and transportation), was so excited to try.
It went out of order at the first power-up: connected everything, gave it power, the standby light was red, ok. Powerup from standby: the light went orange for a couple of seconds, then went out. No lights turn on since that time, the device is completely lifeless.
I think it had a hard life before, like working every day at a workshop, it is quite dusty.
I've checked the fuses, they seem to be ok, but i've got no tools (also no expertise) to look into it deeper.
I plan to restore it to the best possible condition, maybe with professional help but first need to save some money.
I would like to ask for every and any information you have, including service manual (haven't found it on the web), experiences, advises.
It still looks awesome in my opinion, but i want to hear it too. : )
Hope you like the (blurry, sry) pictures!
Best wishes to you!
