Hello,
I am looking for a couple transformers to use in a DAC. Need one for digital stages and one for analog. I am pretty sure I am looking for a toroidal design with sperate screens for the primary and secondary sides.
Who makes the best quality out there?
I am located in Europe so really would prefer a European supplier.

Lundahl makes very good c-core transformers. Their US distributor makes a DAC kit that uses the Lundahl LL1674 amorphous core transformers for the D/A (I/V) conversion with the Ti DAC chips.

I take you are asking about power supply trafos 😕🙄
these are toroids

throwing money at PS xfmr isn't as good as designing the supply for good isolation
split bobbin EI can be better if you don't have a low noise, low Z "technical gnd" to terminate the higher C of the toroid shields to

Yes, power supplies for a DAC.

Not in any case. As an example, the Linn LP12 turntable sounds MUCH better with only a huge xfmr (Naim Armageddon or DiyGeddon) in comparison to the sophisticated and heavily regulated blah blah blah... Linn Lingo PSU supply.
DAC PSU transformers
In DAC PSU's I use vanilla E-core transformers wound with a split bobbin, which has low inter-winding capacitance and lower powerline RF pass thru. Toroidal power xfmers with electrostatic shields are pretty much special order in North America. Without the shield, I find a lot of powerline RF gets through and you then need a medical grade EMI filter.
Sowter in the UK makes excellent audio transformers and custom parts are not a problem. Their power transformers are mostly vintage or valve, or custom.
Chinese DACS on eBay have R-core transformers as all the rave, but I think they're just cheaper to make.

On the commercial side I've received very high quality transformers from Signal. They even offer some very nice torroid models. Prices a bit steep, but products aren't overspeced and underperform. They live up to their ratings. Doc
