I was a little surprised to see someone listing a used F6 clone on Ebay UK and Head-fi for £1500.
I'm not sure this goes along with the spirit of Nelson's generosity. I suppose
it's a one off and not the same as the EBay seller knocking out clones even now he has removed references to NP.
So is this a record price? Does anyone feel like me or not?

Without seeing the amp it's hard to be sure.
If the person did a dual mono powersupply and everything was of extreme high quality it's possible it could be worth that in parts. The transformer, powersupply and chassis can be quite expensive depending on what was used.
It does seem like a high price to me though.

Well , it isn't the best build i have ever seen ( far from it ) , but it is an dual mono psu and 1500 pound it's not so far from its cost ( including labor ) after all 😉

He still should not have called it a First Watt F6 when selling it, even though he says he built it
in the listing's text. Only the schematic is (presumably) similar. Not the same chassis,
not the same power supply, not the same boards, not the same workmanship.
Perhaps instead it should be a "DIY copy First Watt F6".

I've seen the factory item sell for close to that figure. The guy who turns out the clones on EBay uk used to do them for some £800 using diy-audio boards. He's now charging about £1100.
Ultimately it's what the punter will pay and I doubt anyone will pay £1500 for a clone. Saying that, nothing would surprise me on EBay.
