Hello all,
After doing research on the web for a high power chip amp with built-in DSP and Bluetooth, we’ve realised that most products on the market had at least one major drawback.
Zoudio has a great product but the power is limited to 4x50W. The Beocreate 4 channel amplifier has limited power as well. The Wondom JAB5 has in theory all the features that you'd need but the sound quality is relatively poor.
We’ve therefore started to work on a new chip amp board that’s designed for the DIY market and we’d like to have your feedback. The board will have the following features:
- 4x200W @4Ω and 10% THD+N
- Typical THD+N of 0.01% (@ 1kHz, 70W, and 4 Ω)
- 4.0, 2.1, 2.0, and 0.1 configuration
- Built-in DSP using the ADAU1466
- Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX and the possibility to create stereo pairs (and more)
- AUX and I2S input
- ES9028Q2M SABRE Reference DAC
- LEDs, Buttons
- Possibility to connect a Raspberry Pi (for example to use as a streamer) or an Arduino
We’re considering making the board modular so that some of the components can be swapped for others, also considering the current chip shortage situation.
Pricing is still being worked on but we want to keep it as affordable as possible.

They, and Monty are typical to good quality in India.
200W x 4?
Where is the cinema, garden or concert venue to use that?
How many can you sell?

Great
Will it be possible to run this with 24V DC?
It should be possible to run it with 24V DC but it will limit the output power.

Check the Hypex modules, some of them offer 250W per channel.
Very interesting I think 🙂
Thanks 🙂
No aptx HD or lchd?
Hi Guerilla, the chip that we've chosen for now supports aptX Adaptive and the upcoming LE Audio. Is aptX HD or lchd a must in your opinion?
Probably Adaptve is fine. Never heard of LE Just googled it. Would be nice to know which codecs will stick around.

I used to run a mobile disco on 200WRMS !

The Zoudio and Beocreate are without a doubt class D amplifiers. If you are planning a to build a class D amplifier board with the mentioned features (which I assume), it would get a lot more interest + responses if you'd post this in the 'class D' part of the board, you could also ask a mod to move the thread. If you plan on building a linear amplifier, please disregard my reply.

Hi ICG, you are correct, this will be a Class D amplifier board. I've decided to post this thread in the Chip Amps part of the board because in there I saw a lot of discussions around Zoudio, Beocreate, and Wondom.
But if it's better to have it in the Class D part of the board, could a mod please take care of that?
Moved as requested. Let me know if you want the title changed.
Thanks AllenB!
Could you please change it to "High power, high fidelity Class D amp with DSP+Bluetooth+Aux"?
Thanks in advance.

200W at 4 Ohm and 10% THD+N is not really 200 W. When you market this device, quote the power level where THD+N is 1%, and quote it for both 4 and 8 Ohm.
I am a customer of both Hypex Fusion amps and the Wondom JAB5... so I am very interested in products such as this
Good luck !
The Wondom JAB5 has in theory all the features that you'd need but the sound quality is relatively poor.
Why? Can you ascribe the JAB5's sound to a particular design choice?
TI makes a big power booster chip for class D. PWM in, PWM out - but at higher voltage / current. I assume it can be driven by anything making PWM in H-bridge topology.

Hi, i think , it is better to build d amp module without any add on like BT,DSP
bcause Bt,usb and other modules are available in market at very reasonable price
try to build good wattage d amp with low thd

Some questions if I may...
- What will you be using as ADC for the aux input ? The ADCs are the limiting factor in many dsp boards.
- What will be the form factor ? Can it be used as a plate amp, with the heatsink easily exposed to the outside ?
- Will it work mono, for a 3 or 4 way active speaker ?
- What price range are you aiming for ?

The choice of ADC is not so important for sound quality. Its the implementation and frontend that decides the sound. Also this kit is not really needed. -Perfekt amp modules with digital input are plenty. Put good Frontend/DSP in front of it. Better to use 2x200watts + 2x30 for most 2-3ways stereo speakers for that amount of spl.
OK. I take it back. - For convenience and spacesaving there will be a marked. Just dont use the same amount of watts for bass and tweeter
Cheers!
