hi guys
is this led can be good for 7' lcd project ?
take a look at this led i found in ebay and let me know if it can do the work.. here the link: high power led
not mention life time, heat, electricity expenses and so on.
if we mention life time - a normal projector lamp will last like 2.000-3.000 hours, when a led can last up to 30.000 hours (with the right conditions like a led driver, power supplier, heat sink, ext.) much less electricity, less heat, space..and so on.
don't you think theoretical it worth trying ?
correct me if i am wrong.
Thank you.

I have not seen any 200w LEDs just the 100w ones on eBay.you get 100w and i think 200w versions as well. Should work much better and brighter
I am curious about buying a used LCD projector on ebay and replacing the old lamp with an LED.
As I understand it you bypass the ballast so it will turn on, put the LED together with the heat sink and condenser lens, fit the LED into where the lamp was housed, then connect the LED to the LED power supply.
is there anything more to it than that? Opinions?
Anyone know of any posts or sites where someone described how to mod a retail projector with an LED?
you can check lumenlab.com forums. There is a thread on XGA LED projector over there that details what you're looking for. And there are a few other threads there. Allinbox.com also has some people who have modded their commercial projectors and this forum has plenty of ballast bypass strategies
However not many people have done this and you may find it very difficult to be able to concentrate all the light form that LED because the array is a large square
Anyways, check the threads, that should definitely help you out
