I mean you already have/enjoy BIB, so why not moderatly sized subs?

What I meant was the sub I was looking for had to be high efficient , paper cone low x-max etc...

How does the Tapped Horn perform?, it seems that the design likes the higher x-max drivers?

One thing thats cool to see and also kind of blows people away is how little the cone of the driver moves in a well designed horn. You can have very loud volumes and the cone hardly moves, so having massive driver x-max is no big deal...

Quality ply and matrix type bracing. Still weighs a lot, but I fail to see the issue if it gives an inert cab. How often do you intend to pick it up?

There's a cool cab made out of metal in the fullrange forum called steel Buschorns... I was thinking if a person had the skills a sub cab made out of metal would be a good thing to try. All a person would need is a dolly on hand to help move it into place etc... Dave

If you actually understood how to uae the materials to their best, it wouldn't need to be that heavy.

Even my new PA and bass cabs, which will be moved a lot, will be matrix and not all that heavy because I thought about the design a lot first. I do use a handtruck to load in/out as I don't see the point in carrying things when a mechanical aid is handy.

Yeah, I still think it would be something to try, it's not like once in place it's going to be carted around anyhow...

So your a bass player? I play guitar..... check out my uncle's site: http://members.shaw.ca/briannewcombe Dave🙂

Scott, the Reckhorn A-400 just arrived today... Wow what a nice and hefty unit, I'm so glad now that I got this instead of a plate amp..

I'll hook it up in the next few days to my car sub for now and make sure it's working properly etc... Cool, thanks for turning me onto this amp instead of a plate amp........

And BOB if your out there? Thanks for the speedy delivery!!! and for being so easy to do business with...... Dave🙂

A little late on my reply lol. But anyways, whats the advantage of all the wood that is stacked at the final expansion of the horn versus using mdf and kerfing the panel so that it can be bent smoothly. The flared MDF is very strong, I don't see strength being an issue and its fairly light.

On the topic of tapped horns, mine uses very little xmax, but the output is immense. Kinda disappointing when you have a driver with 22mm xmax and you only use 5 haha.

Where did you get your amp from, I'm sorry I missed that? Somewhere in Canada? How is it working?

Sorry about the rambling lol.
