I am going to build a small pair of mobile speakers ie for moving out to BBQ table, work area etc etc
Am going to use vifa M10MD3906 mids with d20td0506 tweeters, half price from mass.com.....
I intend at this point (before testing) to simply use a series cap with the tweeter as a high pass at 8kHz (3.3uF)
The tweeter literature states a 2nd order xover should be used - I am assuming this would only be essential for a lower xover point.... is 8kHz high enough to only need a 1st order filter??

If that 2nd order is in around 3k you should be fine.

my problem is that the 10md's don't really sound that good up high (Ihave some) Use the second order...
I have routinely used 3.3's for tweeters, but it does
presume that you are not planning on playing too loud.
