I know what you need. The BD139 and BD140 are what you need.

You can also buy the originals as well.

The 1606 uses a 4080 chip to drive the outputs. What I meant was the 1606 is the amp still using the 4080 chip.

1. Ok.

2. No you cant, at least not on digikey, which is the catch. only supplier i will use here, besides MCM

3. This is a 1606 amp, and it DOES NOT use the HIP4080.

If you can order the BD139 and BD140 from your supplier that's what I would use. I have used them in numerous Hifonics amps.

The last 1606 I worked on used a 4080. Must be different versions.

There are plenty of suppliers out there as good if not better than digikey or MCM. If you will not use anything but them that does limit your ability to get parts.

Good luck my friend.

I got it running, I yanked drivers off of a parts board, But i will stock some BD for future amps, as I am running out of parts boards. hehe. As far as other suppliers, i would be glad but I dont handle the money or suppliers. Thats another person.

I have also found there are 2 versions of the BXi2006D as well.

One version uses N channel FETS only and the other uses N and P channel FETS.

I have worked on 4080 amps in the past, but the 4080 is sensitive to FET failure and such, they can be a pain sometimes.
