Im working on a hifonics hurcules xx amp. I checked all power supply fets everyone is toast, checked the outputs almost all are toasted and checked the diodes which are toast also a resistor is toast stillmeasures 10 ohm but badly burnt. Wondering what else should i check out in the amp Is there something common whith theese amps to blow alot of stuff like this ANY help would greatly be appericated
This amp uses the irf640n and irf9640 in the output stage. Wondering if theres a good cross to both theese numbers any help would greatly be appericated
With class D amps, using a different part will often lead to trouble. Sometimes, even a replacement with the same part number won't work properly. If, for some reason you need to use subs, you should repair it with the original parts, confirm that it's in 100% good working order and then use the substitute. Then, if there's a problem, you know it's almost certainly due to the sub.
After you get the amp working, you need to check the drive signal on the gate leg of EVERY output transistor. This amp has eight different drive circuits and, if I'm not mistaken, will operate with as few as two of the eight in good working order. I've seen several that had multiple dead drive circuits.

ok i just recieved the outputs and power supply fets. Somemore checking on the amp the rca jacks are broke also there are 2 orange parts behind the rca jacks that look like mylar caps they are marked 222 but they are 3 leaded parts does anyone know what theese parts are and where i might be able to get them any help would greatly be appericated
They are probably filter capacitors. Some have inductors, some don't. The following Mouser part number is one example.
81-DSS306Y5U222Z100
81-DSS306Y5U222Z100
ok thanks thats the part i need mine says 222 on the cap what value do i need to order any help would greatly be appericated
22 and 2 zeros in pico farads.
2200pf or 0.0022uf
If it has a k in the part number (222k...), that's 10% tolerance. There should also be a voltage rating. If there is none, it's likely a 50v cap.
