HIFIDIY A-20 amp kit

Has anyone had any experience making one of these kits, and if so, can you share your thoughts about it. The thread on the Naim Clone leads me to believe that the company does supply well designed kits, and this one comes with everything from the boards and parts to the heatsinks, power supplies, large transformer and even the case, which solves the problem of searching them out. As I am not an EE, I am curious what some of you more experienced builders think about the kit. They say it is based on the Krell 50, and assuming that the parts are not counterfit clones, it appears that they are all better parts and should be a good sounding amp. I really do want to try a Class-A amp in my system, but with the prices of production amps now days, a DIY project is about the only way I will be able to do so.

One of the things that worry me is the doccumentation. Having read through the info on their website, the english takes me back to my days in Chinese Medical School trying to make out what my professors were actually saying (they were all from the PRC, and, yes, I really am a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine). I have had a few e-mails with the company trying to get a few answers, and find the English in the e-mails to also be so-so, not that my Mandarin is very good now days... LOL

I hope that someone has a little feedback on this kit. Thanks...

I bought a pair of JLH ClassA pcbs off ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-JLH-1...912?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588e4527e0

And sourced the components myself* (RS/Farnell/Rapid).
* This has the advantage of you knowing whether the components are genuine or not.

The pcbs are for the higher power design using pairs of MJ15003 output transistors.

Its built but I've yet to connect it up (I intend to use 2 pairs of 24AH 12v lead acid batteries)

All the info you need is on the tcaas website:
I can't comment on how it would compare to a Krell though.

I am also intrigued by the HIFIDIY kit and most likely to purchase the kit asap. If anyone has suggestions or feedback on this amp i am very curious to hear it. Also any info on modifications or alternative parts would be awesome. 😀
