Hickok 6000 can't set Line Voltage to center scale.

Hi all:

I'm looking at this 6000, turned it on, warmed it up for 5 minutes, but noticed that I could not get it to read in the center of the scale for line voltage adjust.

The best I could do is about 1/4" to the right of center, turning the knob any further would turn the tester off.

Any help to get to the cause of this problem will be appreciated.
