Augerpro,
I am playing with "Passive Crossover Designer 5.10" and "Baffle Diff Sim" and I am getting real itchy for a 830884 based 2-way with either DX25, 27tdfc or 27tbfcg. I don't have any measuring equipment and I want to stick to free software.
Is using SplTrace on your graps or Zaph's good enough?
Is getting phase data important as with SplTrace it's all at zero?
Is speaker workshop a better software then the above?
Mo
You can build a measurement mic for just a few dollars, and, LspCAD and ARTA both have free demo versions, also here is totally free measurement program:

Here is an excellent link regarding designing speakers with "software only" (without measuring):

Here are a couple interesting two-way designs from which you could get ideas that you could apply to a 2-way Peerless 830884 design:

I recently got a pair of 830884s to test and measure myself, will most likely use them in a 3-way similar to Augerpro's "Delphis", just with a different tweeter. I've had the MDM-55s for quite a while planing to do a "Duelund" type design also. The Peerless 830884 and the Dayton RS225 would be my top two choices for 8" woofers. For an 8" in a two way, there might be "easier" choices, such as this Seas for $59: http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=45_228_257&products_id=834
EDIT: I've heard the RS225 in a few designs and always really liked it, I'm very curious to compare the 830884 to the RS225 in side-by-side listening - I don't have any RS225s myself yet, hope to get some soon.
