I'm looking to the HI-VI M4N is a possibly full range driver option for a couple of bookshelfs
they will be in 3L sealed... each
any better options for less than <$20 each?

Zaph has a full range project right here, and the drivers are only $9.57 a piece:

looks cool 🙂
but it needs to be 4" and have a round mounting frame... sry 🙁
The M4N is no fullrange. If you look at the responce graph you can see it's ok for a midrange, but anything over 5000Hz is impossible to fix. The 1,5k bump can be tamed with a passive filter.
You should get the B3N instead:

anything wrong with this tang bang?

I know top end could be a little better... but it looks decent enough
Those spikes at the top look quite bad. The W4-655SA would probably be my choice for 4" Tangband, but I have to say it's not perfect, a noch filter is a must, and a super tweeter wouldn't hurt.
If you want something good you need to pay more (FR125S) or get a 3" (W3-817, NS3-193, B3S/N).

the FR125S is used in my other speakers... but not this one
it just needs to sound listenable... it's for a friend with poor audio tastes.... it just needs to be a 4"... just looking for the nicest solution for cheap that will offer OK sound
I will grab that W4-655SA... I can't find a place that sells them though 😕

if they had a round frame they would be ideal here 🙁

where can I buy those speakers?
In germany it´s easy to get them as the german distributor "already" has them.
Don´t know why partsexpress doesn´t.
I´d drop them a mail.
