Hey folk just a little intro.
My name's Jordan, and I'm a digital print specialist/Freelance Audio engineer.
To elucidate, Digital Print Specialist - I do graphic design, and run a ridiculously expensive/engineered printer, that prints really large vinyl. e.g. Outfield signs, vehicle wrapping etc.
Freelance Audio Engineer - I live in northwest ohio. While I would love to work in the recording industry, there's not much of that here. So I record/mix at home pretty much anyone who wants me to. I've doing live audio since i was 14, and have worked with the toledo symphony, local bands, as well as a whole lot of out of town acts who I somehow got hooked up with.
My main intrest in this DIY stuff is to learn alot of the basic electronic I feel I should know, seeing as I work in this field.
I am NOT in any way interested in car audio.
Thanks,
******geek

So, with your printer, you could do really unusual vinyl-wrap loudspeaker coverings?
I thoroughly approve of your final sentiments. If god had meant us to listen to music on the move he would have invented a sensible water-proof pouch to hang from a pushkike's crossbar that could contain: really decent CD player, Stax SR-001 electrostatic headphone amplifier, headphones (for use when raining), spare batteries, CDs.
Welcome to the forum. Are you of the silicon or thermionic persuasion?
