HI, i need help

hi everyone, my names ibby, im 25 and a student in the UK in birmingham studying multimedia technology.

at present on my degree course we are currently being taught web design and 3d animation, althought audio video is part of the syllabus, it hasnt yet been included, and wont be until this time next year, which is pretty sad.

ive been installing audio systems in cars at basic levels for friends, just pluggin in speakers of certain RMS values to amplifiers with the same output RMS values

a guy came to me, a reccomendation, with an MR2 and he wanted his car done too, only this guy had more than a basic plan in mind, and being as my mind is basic in this feild, i decided to enlist some help and luckily this site showed up in the top 20 on google search for ''speaker current seperating''

where would i post a question on how to seperate the amount of Watts coming out of an amplifier so that its possible to seperate , for example, a 50W current across 3 speakers of 20w+20w+10w

ive posted it in the electronics section, but not very familiar with the site as ive just registered

More on topic now, I think we need to know more about your plans.
Is it 2 X 25W? Will the speakers all be the same, will you use crossovers...?
I understand it will be a typical car-audio application. You might post some more details in that forum.

to be honest, i havent got a clue what my name means! lol
i think i was just given the name cos my moms father didnt had the same name and he died a few months b4 i was born

oh well...
..anyway ...

MR2 sound

Not much room in an MR2 I own one. It seems you might not want to over drive the speakers past their rated specs. Or are you aiming to split the low, midle and high sounds?

What are you trying to achieve with the multiple speakers?

thanks for ur reply,

basically i want to add standard mid range speakers and 6x9's to one channel somehow, and using componenets and electronics seperate the voltage so any speaker doesnt get over powered... like a small fuse to each speaker , the other channel connected to an external crossover to filter out everything but the low frequencies to the subwoofer....if u know what i mean...

you need to work out what frequencies to cross over at. Maybe you need the flexibility of an electronic crossover. Id investigate that.
