Hi, i have a 2005 Cadillac STS. I just hooked up a Dual 1000w amp and the fuses in the amp keep blowing as soon as it gets power. Dont know what i did wrong.
i checked that and no,not reversed. I am using a low output converter because my stock deck doesnt have RCA jacks. I ran the remote(blue)wire from the low output converter to the remote into the amp.
If you're talking about when I turn the key on. And it gets power. Yes, it blows the fuses as soon as I turn the key on.
If it's wired normally, if an amp only blows the fuse after the remote voltage is applied, it's generally due to shorted output transistors in the amp. It could be shorted rectifiers or a shorted transformer but that's somewhat rare.
Are the fuses the correct size and type - current rating and time delay or slow blow vs fast acting?
You added the fuses in the amplifier? I'm a bit lost. How's the fuse to work on an amplifier? 1000 watts
