Hi Guys, just bought a JBL 1214 GTO ,need help to built a nice ported enclosure

new to this forum, just got a nice jbl Gto 1214 subwoofer , need your help for building a nice ported enclosure for car.bought a 3/4 mdf sheet can figure how to built the box.

Download WinISD Pro and try some sims. I used mine in a 70L ported box tuned to 18Hz and that was pretty good. Needed EQ though, as the response started sloping around 50Hz. A bit of boost got me flat to below 20Hz.

Is this for in home or car? The cabin gain in a car means means an enclosure tuned flat will have an excess of low bass.

Hi kevin,
A sealed 15-20L is more than enough with/for a 1000W amp. What car cabin size do you have? Small car or big inside space of 3-4 cubic meters cabin? With the cabin gain you are flat to 20Hz. It's only a matter of calibrating +/- 2dBs. Have fun.
