So just to make it international, Hails from the (other) cold north..
btw, hooha, high glossy finnishe's are easely obtained by using car "paint", dont really know the english word, the third language thing again, but you know.. using a compressor...
My bookshelf's are set up for a fix in a couple of weeks, metallic Nissan blue Pearl. I'l be posting pic's.
btw2, I'm into brewing as well, but rather mead then ale, though i'm a big fan of both.

Thanks for giving it an international flavour. Your English as a third language is very good. My hats off to you. I would be interested in hearing about your making of mead. Would you mind sending me an email and tell me more about it. Ingredients, process, etcetera. I have used honey as an adjunct in beer but not as the entire sugar content.

Can't wait to see them. I think Pearl would be a beautiful colour on a pair of boxes. And as far as Mead goes, it is a flavour I could never get into. Patience is also not a strong virtue of mine. My Scottish Ale is just coming into its own after kegging it last December.

as for the speakers, I have come to the conclution that i want to get the fulrange's in house and get my transmission lines designed and completed before i decide what speakers should get the beauty treatment.
the laquering is expencive to say the least.

About your Transmission Line design, please do share in the forum! As I mentioned before, I will do more reading than posting, since a majority of what I need to know is in the archives already....

Being the muder capital of Canada Winnipeg has earned itself a new nickname ... Killerpeg!
Aside from the murders, about a week ago, I had the great pleasure to meet up with a couple of fellows from this forum, Fred (Fred Petersen) and Keith (lumberdust).
Both are very knowledgeable about audio and were very pleasent to meet and speak with. Unfortunately I was short on time and only got to spend a little over an hour at Fred's place. Silly me, I forgot to bring along a camera, so I have no picutres to post.
Keith is an excellent woodworker and he had a set of 12" Tannoys in a TL enclosure. The cabinets were stunning and more importantly, they sounded phenominal. After hearing these Tannoys, I can begin to understand why the drivers sell for so much on eBay.
The amplifier was a pair of "Little Wally" mono blocks. The Little Wally is a partial kit designed and produced by S.A.R. Labs. You need to supply the enclosure, transformer and speaker terminals. While I did not have a chance to stick around to hear other amps, the little wally sounded great and had great bass response given its small size and power output. It was a very good match with the Tannoys.
While I did not get any pictures, there are some posted on Fred's site (www.audiofyle.com)
I sure hope to meet up with you guys again .. next time I'll bring down my tube amps for a listen.
We should also consider having a little audio BBQ or something in the future.
