Hi Everyone First post — Want to learn more about old amps and repairs

If a pot was stuck you would feel it. The balance or volume pot could be dirty though. Any of the front panel selector switches could be dirty as well. Have you tried moving, twisting, poking or prodding all the controls? Normally you can hear something change or crackle when you find the problem one, but not always. Pre-out/ amp in rear panel connections or switches can be a sore spot too.

Here's a video with a lot of good tips and tricks.

They go from control board to power amp board. I’m guessing there is very little output from the white wire so that’s why so low and I was thinking the balance pot. Although I did clean it and it’s free with no static.

I checked for open caps but can’t find any.

Looks like at some point the white wire signal is being dropped.

May have to take it in as beyond my abilities.

Is there a way I can bypass the balance pot just to check??

Another experiment: tie the two wipers of the balance pot together through a 1k resistor. (The resistor is a current-limiting precaution.) Audio may or may not appear in both speakers. The result should tell you if the defect is before or after the balance control.
