Plus it must sound awesome with fantastic midrange.I would like to build a hi-end two way loudspeaker with a mid-woofer 6-8” in size, what driver would you suggest? I know this is the most boring speaker size in the world, but it is the most efficient size, in sound quality that is!

True, but IME when limited to a driver's pistonic BW and one can't/don't want to, do elaborate measurements it's a whole lot better than just 'willy-nilly' choosing XO point/slopes.That works with theoretical point sources, not with real drivers.
