dear all :
I'm very happy today! because I design a hi-end tweeter today!
the frequency response :1500Hz to 30KHz ,
spl: 90dB¡À3dB 1M/1W
Re:5.6 OHM
voice coil: 25¦Õ
I hope the frequency response to 40KHz , who can help me or give me some idea to me !
tks !
cheers!🙂

Help you how?
You're not giving much to work from, those claims are true of a number of very 'regular' tweeters....

Won't that be really directional?
Anyway congratulations, it is always nice when an idea becomes reality, especially if it sounds good!
Do you have a distortion plot for it? Why do you want to extend it to 40KHz?
You might use a lower mass voice coil, unwind a bit maybe? Just a guess.
What is the pyramid made from?
Oh wait... I just noticed those two posts were from two different people!

"I hope the frequency response to 40KHz"
Why? What would produce those frequencies and how would they get recorded, and reproduced?
You can't hear anything there and there is little musical info above 15kHz.

Did you design this yourself, or is it a tweeter already in production that you want to use and are seeking advice on?
Looks to have a neo magnet. Knurled and threaded so it will screw into some kind of receptacle - can't flush mount very easily.
No way to attach it on to a baffle unless you go for press-fit.

Slaughtering a tweeter and a midrange and taking three bamboo sticks shouldn´t be a problem, but currently I am more interested in huge mid-high bending wave arrays.
dear all:
this's speaker is design myself!
no product now !
just the first design finished!
we will can modify configuration next time !
this spk is design for car-audio!

Promising frequency response! However looking at the impedance this obviously has no shorting ring or copper plating, or probably even a very optimized motor in general, so I can't agree that it's very "high end" yet. But make some changes and it could be very nice...
Was going to say looked like something you literally screw into a car. Looks promising, but then again, so do a lot of things in development these days. Any measurements on distortion et all?
Well MDT-33 too has no shorting ring or copper plating in the motor. Moreover its motor is primitive enough (but is certainly well optimized). And... it is one of the best high-frequensy unit. Thanks an excellent dome both the powerful motor + hexatech voice coil... and to the balanced general design.
I do not wish to tell that shorting ring or copper plating are not necessary, but probably it not the most important.
But!🙂 if to use something similar Scan-Speak SD motor design or just copper lining of VC gap on MDT-33 and it is a little to change the back chamber and to apply underhung voice coil... It would be already absolutely another beast 🙂
PS Tweeter with flat FR it is not obligatory high-end tweeter 🙂

Hi Jam,
Can you design a tweeter that is made of beryllium or some other rigid class materials that has breakup mode higher than 40khz?
Or, Can you make an aluminum alloy or aluminum composite with common materials dome that has higher than 40khz breakup mode, intead of below 30khz of the common metal dome available for diyers these days?
BTW, what is the dome of your tweeter made of?

I wonder
That frequency response curve looks too good to be true. I've seen this kind of thing before.... somehow seas keeps selling milleniums.....
