Hi all. I'm looking for advice concerning acoustic dampening.

My son is an aspiring musician and is presently transforming his old bedroom (14' X 10.5') into a recording studio. He wishes to do something with the walls, primarily to absorb sound. He calls it "acoustic treatment". He's looking into what materials to use.

Some have suggested that the foam type of material absorbs the mids and the highs, but to absorb the bass, a kind of fiberglass or rock wool is necessary. He doesn't seem to fond of using fiberglass or rock wool.

Is there a forum here for recording issues? Or is there a better forum that addresses these things?

There are an abundance of YouTube clips that show how others have converted their residential bedrooms into home recording studios. Some are good, some not so good, but for the most part these are all worth watching.
