I was just thinking that since that little very unpractical outlet has been around for god knows how long, Maybe somebody out there could have invented some kind of commercial design/ solution for the connection.
I will probably dedicate an instrument to hfe measurement, and solder the wires directly in the instrument and make a little hole in the side of the cabinet🙄

the hFE measurement built into DMMs is not worth much.
Most of them feed a constant fixed base current and measure the collector current.
You have no control over the collector current, nor the power dissipated, nor the temperature. Only good for a rough grouping.
Make up a little jig and do your own hFE measurement.
