Hi colbear and welcome to the forums. As this is just the introduction area you may wish to post this question in another forum but I noticed it's a 7 band stereo graphic EQ. How you use it depends on what you are trying to do.
If you are trying to actually EQ your system, this particular unit is very limited. You may be able to smooth the response but you'll have a hard time getting it flat as you have only seven points at which you can EQ.
If you are using it for tone controls, simply slide them up and down to your taste. It's the same thing as bass and treble controls, just more of them.
