Help with Yamaha AX-1070 Transrotor Source Selector cleaning!

Hello!

I need help as my Yamaha AX-1070 has come to a dead end with it's tape 1 source selector for the L channel, so I am wondering taking appart the trans rotary selector for the imput selector and taking it to be goldened at a jewlers shop with a workshop in the back for the things they mfd. and sell, would it work? Only 8 months since it's last takeapart and clean... Thank you!

Well you guys I have done the following thing, I have mixed some chainsaw oil with some Diesel fuel in 50/50report and sipped in a seringe some of it (a quilt), afterwards i have inserted the needle of the seringe in the transrotor with the tip of the needle on the disk containing the metal strips that make the source change in the amplifier and put two drops of oil on it this beeing made on each disk, 3 disks beeing in total. Than switch to another source to lube the entire disk entirely 6 times repeated process from begining point to end point. I have to say that I have no more problems now with it anymore!

Take in consideration:

1. Put paper towels, lots of them under the transrotor for no drops to reach the electronic components composing the PCB Board.

2. Don't pour (put too much in) for spillage will accour afterwars damaging components inside the amplifier.

3. Make sure to put on the side that contains the metal flange for the rotary switch source selector.

4. Don't pull out the towels in such a manner that the dripped oil (in case) to be getting on the other electronic components as they could get dammaged.

5. Switch the sources so that the oil spreads even on the transrotor metal flanges that are on the discs.

This solution should last for allot of time!

I have used WD40 and after 3 months my 89' SABA radio got the hiss on the volume pot again (slide type volume potentiometer) and after use of this mix after 2 years past full still no degradation of the function of the potentiometer, I have used in this case 5 drops in the volume potetiometer.

Thank you!
