Help with these speakers

Greets!

With rebuilds, really need to measure their T/S specs, otherwise can only recommend the larger cab I posted earlier, then damp, EQ to 'taste'.

I barely understood because I am not a PRO. I guess I need to seek professional speaker builders help but I highly doubt if our local speaker builders are even familiar with these kinds of vintage full-range speakers.

Doesn't matter if they are or not; what matters is can they measure the T/S specs, which I would be very surprised if they can't. With these specs, either us or them can calculate a number of different type cab options.

Without them, can only recommend this generic box size, tuning: driver Fs = ~60 Hz = ~4 ft^3/113.27 L** with a vent area [Av] = driver effective piston area [Sd] = 28"^2/180.65 cm^2 for 8" drivers = 60 Hz tuning [Fb].

** I misread the old chart I have, so the 8 ft^3 I posted was wrong.

A basic 1:1.4:2 box ratio = 13.5"/~34.3 cm x 19"/~48.5 cm x 27"/~68.6" internal dimensions [i.d.] or whatever shape you prefer of ~the same volume [Vb].

Mount the driver wherever you like with the vent nearby and damp it internally by ear ['taste'].

WHERE is local? 🙂
99% omit this very important information.
Answers depend A LOT on location.

As of edge treatement/doping, a Pro repair guy will use the proper stuff , which is a water base Latex emulsion (same as "acrylic" roof tile sealant, but 10X as concentrated), white when liquid, bluish as it dries, transparent when fully dry, paper looks blacker than before by comparison.

And it never really dries, being Latex based is always fkexible (good) and tacky (annoying).

Some fake it by using diluted vinyl carpenter´s glue or solvent based adhesives (contact cement) which is wrong.

PS: surprised he reused the voice coils, since at least one was presumbly damaged.

And even if possible, those paper and nitro adhesive vintage coils sound good but stand "nothing", think 12-15W tops.

Maybe he used vintage style coils, which to boot raises power handling.

Paper cones used to be made in Jaipur, Rajasthan State, seen repair men using those.
But getting and transporting a few cones...hassle.
Here the old coils are not reused, they put new coils, and the repair sounds good if done properly, which is really based on the hand skill of the person doing it.

This is how we do it...
Speaker repair shop.
Takes a long time, but he is popular.
Like months.
I go to another if needed, he is like 11 AM in, 5 PM take it away, max. next day.
