Help with small on-walls

Hi guys, im new here and looking to start my first project. I need a pair of on-walls less than 5" or so deep. They will be for pc use with a wide array of music, no critical listening. I have a powered 8" sub and lepai 2020a+ amp (20x2). I will make the cabinets out of mdf, and I am leaning towered sealed. So what advise would you give on drivers, I am trying to stay under $100 for the drivers. Thanks in advance for any help.

My suggestion would be FF85wk. Enclosure could easily be shallower than 5".MDF in such a small enclosure would minimize its issues, but i'd still suggest good plywood. It would need to be a vented box to get down to meet the woofer, not many drivers these days are designed for sealed use, something bigger might do that (CHR70?).

If you want a nice wall mount that is less than 5 in deep look no further than a Cornu BLH made with thin plywood baffle and foam core channels. I would recommend the CHR70 or a TB W4 bamboo cone with a 24 in x 24 in x 4 in deep channel. Look in Cornu thread. I think Prezden has built one with bamboo cone. A smaller 20 in x 3.5 in deep one with a Vifa tc9fd also sounds very nice. If you have a sub, it will be perfect. These are very easy to make and great bang for the buck.
Alternatively, you can also make a flat wall mount MLTL or a flat wall mount BIB. The first post in the foam core thread will give you links to all these designs.
