Help with sealed chamber size for 5" Lavoce Midrange driver for Pioneer CS-V935

After a few days of listening and trying different DAC's. I find the mods made the speaker assemblies very sharp. The cabinets may need more insulation added but even with Bill Withers - Lovely Day it is very sharp so then I tried Little Jeanie, Elton John and the high frequency is still very forward. If I listen to muddy sources like from tape or reel, it is less obvious like

The Partland Brothers - Soul City 1986

maybe only +1.5-2dBm above flat from my ear.... but still there is a problem esp with CD or radio or FLAC. The mid-range seems to be actually very good in this 4 way arrangement. I find the Dayton titanium dome tweeter very tinny or sharp and overly forward. It seems to take over the soundstage. I bought it based only on the Parts Express reviews and the fitment. I definately find it a little "tinny" or canny/metallic sounding and only gets worse when more power is applied. It's super loud with high definition but I am not pleased by the definition in respect to the rest of the soundstage. I own a bunch of other speakers and the problem seems to be too much HF energy from the tweeter. It can handle a lot of power and throws a high sound pressure but it is not balanced with the other drivers. I need to tame it or swap it, any ideas? Failing a Graphic EQ should I try and add a new crossover as the other one is glued in to the back of the cabinet making it difficult but not impossible to remove.
