well, entire ZEN series of amps is made as (unconscious) anticipation of Zen Mod's arrival in Papaland

things were too serious around, so I'm simply Omninecessity (besides being Omnipresent, Omnipotent ..... in short - Omnieverything)

My Zen thought for today:

Does the ocean feed the rains or do the rains feed the ocean?

What was once Zen with chokes and Choky without Zen has now become Zen and not Choky. Was it Zen when it had chokes but now ZenM because it is no longer Choky?

The answer - yes and yes

Somewhere I have original Zen amp, bride of zen and Bride ofSon of zen boards I bought from old colony sound. Never did build them....have the magazine articles as well...pre Glass Audio mag days.

Yes, your second pic in post #49 shows an original International Rectifier - IRFP9140 mosfet, made in the 46th week of 1992 - now part of the Vishay goup.

Well, that dates it pretty well and is about right.

Did you see what gain device was used?

No, but there is a small transistor on the board and two power transistors on the heatsinks.

The small transistor would be the bias controller for the current source.
