The system consists of:
Faital Pro 15 inch, using MiniDSP LR2 xover
Mid bass 8 inch, using MiniDSP LR2 for High Pass only
Mid bass 8 inch to horn, passive LR2
Horn to tweeter, passive LR2.
Do I follow the "textbook" rule of + - + - in this four way?
Regards.

I think the answer isn't as simple as you may anticipate unfortunately. Are the drivers all lined up vertically at the point of origin? Are you using a measurement microphone to find phase anomalies? It's very hard to answer the question accurately without this information.
Having said that in an ideal world, yes the inverse polarity with each driver should provide a smooth xo (ready to be proven wrong though)

Ok thanks gtimes. If after all said is done, can’t I run a test CD/file to check for correct phasing? I’ve heard such audio test files before.
Yes that should help a lot. Ideally you can play say a test tone at the xo point and listen for a drop out with both polarities. This should mean you're at least within a 1/4 wavelength or so. Whereabouts are you in Syd btw? I've got a measurement mic and could perhaps pop round and help if need be.
Was original two way configuration. Horn is Azura 340 with Faital Pro HF200 CD.
Adding an 8 inch Jantzen Troells J8008, plus tweeter.
Six individual attenuation dials for the top three passive channels.

It does sound good but there is little to go on here. Those second order slopes could turn into fourth order when you add the mechanical effects.
What procedures can the owner do? At the least they can swap polarity and listen. Any measurement comparison would be helpful.
What's the speed of sound like in Coolangatta?

Speed of sound in QLD is the same as Sydney, though the pace is far more forgiving.
Client can’t do sweeps etc. Will use some test CD’s/files for polarity checking.
