Alright i have a viewsonic vg150 15" lcd with an Elmo metal halide OP. i had it working for about 10 minutes and it looked great. Then i decided to move it about 3 feet closer to the wall and when i tried to turn it on there were like 2 lines going up and down the screen and then they dissappeared. Now it wont turn on and nothing will show up on the screen. I unplugged everything when i moved it and set it up exactly the way i had it but there is no image or anything on the lcd panel. im sure i didnt break any of the wires or anything either. im fairly new to taking apart lcd panels but does anyone have any suggestions. I have a backup vg150 but id really like to make another projector from it and not ditch my first panel. Thanks a lot guys im so pissed now i just want it working like it was before.
well, since all you did was move the entire projector and i'm assuming no connections where kinked or severed...........
i'd say your driver board to the lcd panel is "grounding out" maybe?
anything touching the board, wires, or panel that wasn't before?
maybe you're getting noise from the lamp ballast.
do you have the power supply to the ballast seperate from the lcd panel? i would. or you might get noise in the image.
