Help with lamp bypass (Casio xj-450)

Hi,

I'm trying to bypass the lamp detection to get this dlp projector running without a bulb. I have been reading threads about similar things for the last few weeks and have tried every method i can think of.

Here are some pics of the opticouplers I believe are involved in the bypass process(pic 1), as well as where they lead to on the main board(pic 2).

(from left to right it reads LON, LGND, L5V, LCON, LDIM)

Ive tried making connections directly across the opticouplers on the lines shown in pic 1, as well as connecting all the wires individually to the LGND line and almost every combination i could think of, but the projector still will not start.

When i say won't start, i mean it attempts to start up 5 times (its warm-up phase) then goes to 'lamp-error'.

As far as i can tell, there are no other sensors that could be causing the projector to not start. I've bypassed the lamp cover switch, all the fans are connected and working, and I shine a light into the light tunnel in case there is some other light sensor inside.

I've tried looking around, but have yet been unable to find the service manual for this projector.

I've now run out of ideas, and any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

try grounding by simply connecting them to a screw head or the case instead of going to the LGND

Also make sure the wire is connected to the main board when u do grounding not the ballast. the ballast should be disconnected.
