First, hi to all.
I need some help with my future (and first, and on tight budget) project.
I am a complete newbie, so please do not be harsh.
Problem introduction:
As I am moving into a new flat, my "listening" room will be "movie watching" room as well. It will be about 25 square meters large room, open from one side (no wall), tv on one wall, sofa on the other wall, about 5 meters wall to wall.
Till now, I always had 5.1 computer systems for music listening, and for watching the movies purpose.
Now, as I want to keep the place as clean as possible, without cables going all over the room, and I am willing to watch movies in stereo, I would like to have only two speakers.
Construction issue:
As I have a "minimalistic design" issue, my genius idea is to build "corner" speakers in left and right corner of the room (side to tv). I suppose that this is bad idea from construction point, but i would like to hear why? Is it a bad idea to create only a wooden front side with drivers, and attach it to the wall corner, so the wall angle would we a part of the box?
Speaker depth should be small, minimum needed, but I have enough on height. Floor to ceiling - about 2,5 meters.
Parts and HTFTCIA (how the f.. to connect it all) issue:
I have this drivers:
4 pieces of:
JAMO X3M10 woofer 20322 10" NEW PAIR - eBay (item 120605621897 end time Aug-13-10 04:36:30 PDT)
4 pieces of:
NEW 1" Silk Dome Tweeter(1Pair)Excellent High Frequency - eBay (item 260649118907 end time Sep-09-10 17:53:49 PDT)
4 pieces of:

So, my idea is to build a speaker from two Jamo 25cm bass drivers for the low area, two TVM speakers for mid, and two tweeters for High area.
Can I construct this as one speaker, or it is better to build separate cabinets inside for Jamo woofers (sealed?), and 2,5 way for the rest? Will there be any gain form using 6 drivers per speaker? Is this even possible?
I would like to get a speakers that are ok for music, but I would also like to feel the bass when watching movies. I am aware that this is a low end quality project, but my goal is to get something better then the 5.1 computer systems I listened till now.
Now, I own a Pioneer receiver (5x100W) as source, but I think I will buy a stereo amp an time soon. Advices here also.
I am writing this here as I hope that there is a good soul who would spend some time and help me with some thoughts and advices. Maybe some construction tips (wall corner, wooden front?), maybe even some box design sketch, crossover thoughts...
I would like if some of You would give Your contribute to this project, I will take Your advices, build the speakers according to Your advices, and share them with You folks when they will be finished. So this could be a community project 🙂
Many thanks!
