Hello,
I have a pair of Eclipse 8" woofers that I would like to build a pair subwoofers
with. I'm looking to try a transmission line enclosure for them. I downloaded
a excel based spread sheet created by fellow diy member Henkjan. Well, my computer is a Mac and when I typed in woofers spec data in the spread sheet I got this:
Length of the line 29.11"?
Box dimensions?
Taper?
😕

Having line terminus in the rear of enclosure will require having rhe enclosures placed some distance from the walls. Since sound exits line terminus you wouldn't want them up against the walls.
What format is it? My iMac refuses to recognize it in expanded format. Why not just post it as a pdf?

Hi Cambe,
Post the driver T/S . Don't forget Sd,BL and Re if you want help to a trustworthy design, without these parameters...No help at least from 'b'.

PS: My computer is OK now so I started simulating your Pencil.
apparently a Mac cannot read a PC excel file, and whatever output is in the zip file, there is not much that I can read on my PC..... is there a Mac-guru who can port the file?
The file in the first post is a "Numbers"-file, Apples version of Excel.
So if u have OSX buy Numbers in the Mac App Store, cheap and great program!
Edit: here a .xls-format of the file...

I used the spread sheet program downloaded from MJK's website and got this:
Area of closed end ~ 128.61"^2
Area of open end ~ 12.86"^2
Actual length ~ 72.5"
Effective length ~ 73.66"
Dz ~ 51.063
Dr ~ 0.0975
SL/SO ~ 0.1

Hi Cambe,
You master the MJK's - spread sheet and this design will work just fine.
If you import your numbers to HR ,you will notice a small bump at the lower end of the FR.
As it's less than ~3dB it will completely disappear when the TL is stuffed with suggested density/amount of damping material.
