Hi All
This may be a really silly question so apologies in advance 😉
We've got some new equipment and despite thinking I understood how it needed to be set up, I'm struggling with one thing, and unfortunately cannot get in touch with the people we purchased from. So we've got a citronic 1200 amp and 2 speakers and 2 monitors. I can get sound out of the speakers but not the monitors. The connectors are the ones that came with it XLR to jack... and have connected the MON OUTPUT to one Monitor and the same with the other... The volume is up and nothing is on mute.... What am I doing wrong? We are a singing group and need to hear through the monitors on stage! If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it as I'm having a mini meltdown.
Cheers 🙂

Hi, post some model numbers of the equipment and a description or drawing of what you have connected to where.

Hiya thanks for your replies - everything is powered 🙂 the monitors are connected at monitor side by jack and xlr into mixer amp. Does that help? 🙂
If you plug the monitors into the main left or right and they work, check the routing of your monitor controls on the desk. I hope you are not using the Mono out from the amp as it will kill your monitors, it must be line level.
Ahhh ok the connectors we were given suggested that yes they come from the 'mon 1 out' and 'mon 2 out' on the mixer - therefore should I be doing something different? I really appreciate your replies cheers

What mixer are you using?
on the mixer the Mon 1,2 masters are at nominal and the appropriate levels are up on the channels your looking to foldback?
Is this it? Do you have a copy of the owners manual?
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hiya alto ts110a monitors - the levels look ok - and have sort of played around with different levels. I want to be able to hear the backing tracks and actually think that we can hear the voices. Does that help (total novice lol)
Yes have the owners manual - but maybe the key bit of infornation is evading me - as I can't see anything relating to hearing the backing track through the monitors - that is the mixer. Cheers

OK. The standard procedure to route signals to the monitor buss is to raise the monitor main slider to unity and then bring up the monitor control on the individual input channel to the desired level. Getting the backing tracks into the monitors requires the device be connected to one of the stereo inputs, what are you using for these tracks and where is it connected?.
Hi they are on a computer and currently connected via the 2 track through mini phonos but can use the pc interface too - what is unity? Cheers
the 2 track is routed to the main mix bus use RCA to 1/4 adapters and apply your backing vocal track to the ST1 and 2 (last two channels) then you'll be able to send them to the monitors.
"unity" is is a term that refers to fader position at 0 on the fader scale (it's also used in describing gain structure as in no addition or subtraction of gain=unity)

OK if the computer is connected to 2TR input then I believe you can route it to the monitors via input channel ST1, you need to set controls 52, 53, 54 correctly and then adjust the Mon1 and Mon2 control levels on ST1.
"Unity" = 0dB on the meters, use the PFL buttons on each input channel to display the signal level on the meters and then adjust the input gain(red knob near the top) to produce a level of about 0dB.
