I just replaced the laser and mechanism in my BAT CD player. It needed to be replaced as I was getting a lot of "no read" errors. The player is about 6 years old.
All went well and now CDs are being read 100% of the time, but I cannot get rid of the rubbing noise that's being caused by the top magnetic spindle that clamps the CD to the motor. When I lift the top plastic spindle, the CD spins noise free, so I know that's the problem. It didn't do this with the old mechanism.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out what or how I need to adjust to eliminate the noise, while keeping the CD clamped.
Help!! This is an awesome CD player.
