Stixx has kindly sent me the whole control panel from his donor player.
A few screws and my player is in its former glory (which I even haven't witnessed myself - I bought it for experiments in a Salvation Army like shop)

After listening for some time now to this modified Philips I am reluctant to go back to my old unmodified MusicalFidelity E601.

Here are a few pictures of the player.
I have added the dedicated (7805) regulator for the digital filter.
The regulator has a reasonable heat sink as you can see.
The overview picture shows the D1 IV converter (top right corner; it is just the IV conversion, no buffer) and its PS below. These PCB are not mounted yet - too busy listening.
The last picture is the new display from Stixx. A completely new display is still on my agenda.
