Hi, I'm looking for replacements for some 40+ year old stabistor (2diodes) and (3diodes) for a marantz model 500 amplifier .
The parts list and schematic.CR301 Mz2361 stabistor
CR302 Sz51066K ??? Cross-reference
Marantz 500 Service Manual free download, schematics, datasheets, eeprom bins, pcb, repair info for test equipment and electronics
Thanks,
Imi from Hungary

The MZ2361 is used at several places in the amp. It is just what the schematic symbol shows: two small-signal diode junctions in series, but assembled into one package. There is a Data Sheet for the Microsemi MZ2361 at http://search.microsemi.com/Reports/AdvancedWebSearch.aspx It is an obsolete part, and the possible alternates shown in that Data Sheet are also obsolete.
The Central Semiconductor CMZ2361 looks like a possible substitute. Product page is at http://www.centralsemi.com/product/partpage2.php?part=CMZ2361 and Data Sheet at http://www.centralsemi.com/PDFs/products/CMZ2361.PDF
I suspect the SZ51066K is quite similar, except it uses three diode junctions in series. Drawing Note #4 tells you it is mounted on the heatsink so I would guess its temperature sensitivity is more important than the actual forward voltage. I can not find specs but the Central Semiconductor CMPD300, or CN4157, or CSTB568, or 1N4157, or 1N4830, or MPD300 may be close. Data Sheet at http://www.centralsemi.com/PDFs/products/LSSGP123.PDF Unfortunately they are all discontinued but you might find old stock at some of the supliers who carry old-stock components. Good luck.

They are in the bias circuit and the number of diode junctions will be important and most small silicon diodes will do.
Quick question, did you find this part? If not do you still need some? I bought 200 at at the Dayton HamFest and would be glad to give you 5 or 10. If you still need some email me at bill@cohutta.com
Hi Bill, I see you just joined.I appreciate you trying to be helpful, but I highly suggest not putting your email address right in the forum thread. That is likely to get picked up by spam bots.
