hey all,
here is the situation......i have two 12" kenwoods with a box for each of them and i have a clarion 2/1 apx 320.2 amp with 2 and 4 ohm loads...the kenwoods are 800W and 4 ohms each how should i go about wiring these.....plz be as specific as possible
thx everyone

Hello young chap.

You can wire your subwoofers in parallel to get the most from your amplifiers.

Positive and Positive from each woofer

Negative and Negative from each woofer

going to the mono channel on your amplifier but only if it can handle a 2 ohm load.

The wattage of the woofer is really not the key point, the size of your box is far more important for good sound quality.

k i think i got it......dont bridge the subs wire both subs directly to the amp.....one in each 2 ohm load and im not putting them in parellel....is that how i should do it.....??

thx for the assistance guys and/or gurls

I dont think your Sony amplifier will be 2 ohm stable then, its best to wire the subwoofers in series or maybe if your amplifier has a 2 channel mode?

There is a school of though that you should load the amplifier down as much as possible to get all the power from it that you can, those amplifiers are normally designed for SPL.

There is nothing wrong with your sony, its just protecting itself🙂

Thanks for the advice, one more quick question and I'll get out of your hair, I'm wondering if the amp is set correctly, on it has "Level" "low boost" and "filter" the filter is set to 300 to drown out as much stereo as possible and the Low Pass Filter switch is turned on as well, as for the other settings I don't know what a desired setting would be, any info on that would be greatly appreciated
