Are there any drawbacks compared to TDA8566 that you are aware off?
Bottom line doesn't appear on TDA8566.😱

Coming to this thread a bit late, but I recommend using higher efficiency speakers, fullrange, for a battery powered, portable system. Maybe a subwoofer, if you insist.
All systems involve compromises. A battery-driven hi-fi is kind of like a car, it is easiest to extract some performance if you're not pulling too much weight.
I appreciate you're already committed to a degree.

I will be using a two way setup with 88db efficiency (if I don't compensate for baffle diffraction) This is quite a slow pace project for me as I have a newborn and a full time job. I may add a passive non-portable subwoofer after everything is finished. But note into the portable speaker as main drivers will already be 5 inch and there will be no room left for a high efficiency sub's driver.
even in BTL, the 8566 will fail to deliver as much power as the 1562q.
8566 will do at 0.5 thd about 30 watt if you use it in btl and a 4 ohm load.
1562q can do minimum 45 watt at 0.5 thd into 4 ohm load.
but i'm not sure if Your speakers can handle it.
if it is portable, most likely the speakers are not too big, and not too powerfull.
maybe you can get away with something similar to tda 1557q or so.
88 dBL is not that inefficient, it really depends on what those drivers can handle, and how loud are you wanting them to get.
