Hello, I have a speaker whose parameters I sent in the photo. I want to make a scooper box and I wanted to check in the hornresp program whether it makes sense in this scooper box, but I don't know anything.

A really rough draft? Might need some polishing/tweaks to be more accurate and double check//2nd opinion my qwik guesstimations
Thank you very much for calculating this box with this speaker. What would you change in this housing to make it sound better?View attachment 1268106

It’s way too big for the driver and the simulation hints at that with the underdamped / peaks at resonace shapes (GM referred to the math explanation) ?
why they called that scoop the "J Scoop"
looks basically like a Bass Reflex is it ? as in HR you use the OD mode like in a BR
so what is the difference between the mini scooper or super scooper VS lets say an SRX828
just the tuning or is it some horn or bandpass mojo happening inside a scooper

Seems the scoops are just flared vent ‘bass reflex’ designs that are long enough to often have a 1/4 wavelength cancelation freq like a generic TL will at 4 x the 1/4 wave Fb ?
(I dunno)
(I dunno)
Cause freq wise and I mean sound "flavour", people say that scoops sound different than BR cabinets. So maybe the flare....idk
I wonder what it is? The 1/4 wave resonances up top and after the cancel dip? (In some of the more ‘back loaded horn’ length Versions maybe )??
I presume because they wanted a simple moniker and the vent forms a 'J' in a side view.why they called that scoop the "J Scoop"

I view it as a crude BLH, so definitely in the BR 'family'.
Dunno, details/links?
Idk, the guy just posted the plans, no design theory nor history, hope he have heard it and liked it, if not ,that is a shot in the dark

Measured response looks like the J-Bin response drops off below about 50 Hz:
