I recently bought a poorly built DIY amp with 6aq5 outputs and mystery O/P transformers (no power trafo, unfortunately). The only identifying marks are the numbers 35883 and 1386118. They are big, about 5 and a half pounds each, and have 6.5k primaries with UL taps and 4, 8, and 16 ohm connections. They seem too big for “12” w. output tubes.
Can anyone identify the maker?

Thanks for the link, but the ID of the transformer was never definitively determined there. Otherwise I wouldn't have come asking here. Maybe it's Stancor, maybe not.
Read the link you posted in further detail. My transformer number doesn't match any known Stancor ID.
Well, the second number does show up on another output transformer Here. Not likely a coincidence, so even if it turns out not to be Stancor as mentioned in the thread, it's still likely to be a company that made transformers for Heathkit.
Looking at what they wrote, the first number may be the OEM the transformer was made for/ sold to. ?
