help for psu

Hi,

I have found some DIY KIT for tube preamplifier.
Now I wolud build a pre with 6DJ8 that is inspired by ARC ls-10.
For PSU I have found 2 different type: one completely with tube and the other one with tube and transistor.
I don't know if tube power supply has output 6,3dc or 6,3ac.

Thanks
Andrea

You can either use AC or DC for heating up the filaments, as the tubes are all indirectly heated, so there should be no hum problems.

Tube or hybrid PSU... Honestly, i would go for tube, as it's what i've been using in all of my projects so far, and haven't had any problem until now (knock on wood). All in all, it's a matter of preference.

The heaters for the tubes in such circuits are usually AC, but this must be "floated" at a DC potential, perhaps 1/2 the output DC voltage.

Do you realy need such a complex circuit? Here is something much simpler:
WAD

There are other more modern circuits using MOSFETs as regulators if you need voltage regulation. They are much simpler.
