Help for pre-amp and two single-ended finals

Hi everybody,

I am new in the worl of valve amplifiers and after going around many sites I would like to have some help to find schemes and step by step instruction to build:

- Pre-amplifier
- Single-ended amplifier

It will be my first project and I am looking for something simple and not too much expensive.

Any idea will be welcome.

Thanks.

Roberto,

Think about lifting a page or 2 from Steve Deckert's book. Check out the DECWARE site.

If you build along the lines of the SE84 and use the 5965 (mu 44) instead of a mu 33 tube as the voltage gain device, there is no question about having enough gain to dispense with a preamp, when a CDP is the source.

Triode wired EL84s yield 2+ W. So, efficient speakers of say a 98 dB. rating are indicated. The same consideration applies to 2A3 based circuitry.

"High" power, SE, and low cost is not possible combination. 🙁 You have to compromise on 1 of 3 wish list items.
