I have a Tannoy i6 powered speaker that distorts badly once gain or input signal goes above a whisper. The amp in the enclosure is an Indigo BASH with 2 channels (high & low freq.)
I see a high-freq (switching-freq?) signal at both channel outputs for half of a 60Hz cycle even with no input to amp, so I suspect the power supply. When I look at the PS output, I see the spikes shown in the diagram at the switching frequency (I think). Any ideas twhat to look at/for? I suspect the PS caps, mainly because Tannoy's newer models have fins on the amp plates and these older ones don't, so electrolytics may have deteriorated faster??
Any better ideas? Anyone with BASH experience?
