Help designing cabinet for Tectonic TEBM65C20F-8

Ok, I don't know anything about speaker design but I'm hoping to learn.
The reason for my question is that an Australian kit manufacturer uses this driver with a ported enclosure, but of course that don't mean they are going about it the "right" way.

LSK M3 mini speaker kit

According to this article (Enclosure Dilemma) if a speaker has Efficiency Bandwidth Product > 122 then it is best suited to ported enclosure and < 50 best suited to sealed cabinet.

EBP = Fs / Qes

For this speaker EBP = 92 / 1.31 = 70, which seems to indicate that it can be used in either a sealed or ported enclosure.

What am I missing?

I built a pair of these boxes for those drivers. I like the sound of them.

Is this a Transmission Line? Looks interesting. Could you specify the cabinet width and MDF thickness used so I can calculate volume?

thanks

Edit: I deduce that you've used 3/4" panels.

It is a TL. I can't find the write up or the post from which I got the info, but the inner width is 3 1/2" wide. I believe I used 1/2" stock for it, but had to use 5/8" thicknesses for the inner pieces that made up the TL "dividers."

I know i'm about 2 years late on this post, but based on this thread and seeing what @mikejennens posted with the T Line i had a go. Used the T-Line Box, a pair of the tectonics and installed a Dayton Audio DTA-2 amplifier board (2x15w\ch) and it sounds pretty good. I have them at my PC and tested them on a few netflix movies and then some cd quality mp3's and was quite surprised.

What about that strong dip ~ 2Khz? Has anyone measured the drivers? That would have to be a real suckout right there.
I know this is a very old post but room reflections completely hide this in what you hear especially due to how non-directive those frequencies are it being BMR technology, it also means the sensitivity in the room is a lot higher than its rated sensitivity compared to normal piston action speaker drivers. I thought you might be interested. The drivers sound amazing, I'm using them in a sealed Dolby atmos system as all 9 speakers in my 5.2.4 system. I made a very shallow box so I wouldn't need to baffle correct which is practically impossible for these types of speaker and I'd get the extra sensitivity out of it too!

I’m very interested in this. How shallow did you go with the box, and what is the internal volume? These would be ideal for my small home theater if I can get them to work with a sub.
